The most mocked piece of hardware on your Mac gets a purpose, an alert that fixes its own bug, and a safety model you argue with in plain English. Plus the section of a launch page almost nobody writes.

Mac notch but make it useful

<a href="https://www.producthunt.com/products/superlog/launches/superlog-responder">Superlog Responder</a> sits in the Slack channel where your Sentry and Datadog alerts already land, and instead of pinging you to go look, it investigates the alert itself using your repo, your logs and your recent deploys, then replies in the thread with what broke and a PR you can merge.
🔥 Our Take: Anyone who's been on call knows the sequence: pager at 3am, open Datadog, click through six dashboards to find the thing the alert already knew. Arseniy Shishaev spent years building part of Datadog's metrics product, so he knows exactly which bit of that nobody enjoys, and Responder just deletes the middle. You're handing an agent repo access at the one hour you're least able to check its work.

🔥 Our Take: Moderation has always been someone else's list: you call OpenAI's endpoint or AWS's guardrails and get their categories, their thresholds, their idea of where the line sits. Llama Guard opened the weights but kept the list, fourteen categories fixed at training time, so a kids app and a cybersecurity tool are stuck pretending they need the same rules. Shieldstral lets you type the question instead, and I've no idea how a policy someone wrote on a Tuesday afternoon holds up against people actively trying to get round it.

<a href="https://www.producthunt.com/products/chute-better-airdrop/launches/chute-2">Chute</a> turns the notch on your Mac into a drop target, so you drag a screenshot, link or file up to it and the thing is on your iPhone, built by brand designer Jackson G Fall after one too many rounds with AirDrop.
🔥 Our Take: Fall built this because he wanted a Figma screenshot in an Instagram story and the existing options all made a meal of it, which is a very designer reason to build something and also the correct one. The notch has been a punchline since 2021, and it took someone outside systems engineering to spot that it's the one place on screen your cursor can find without aiming. Apple owns the Mac, the iPhone and the notch and still hasn't made this a single gesture, which tells you either how little they care or how fast this ends up as a macOS feature.
